Online safety is what drives me, and I work as a moderator at the agency. With experience in running communities and protecting the people in them, I work every day to make the digital side safer. What I do rests on inventing continually to meet whatever the web throws up next.
Where it started
I arrived on Discord in 2018, and my path since has been marked by an unwavering interest in online safety and communication. Starting out as a volunteer moderator on projects such as Slash FR shaped how I understand communities and why digital safety matters so much.
From volunteer to professional: a natural step
That experience led me to take the step into a career built around protecting people online.
Making gaming safer
My professional work took shape with companies such as Revolt Games and Oki Games, where I helped make players safer on well-known titles including Néopolis and BattleBit Remastered. These gave me solid technical grounding in data security and in managing risk online.
At the heart of security for major brands
Over the past year I have had the privilege of working at the centre of Discord server security for major names such as the Ligue de Football Professionnel and Louis Vuitton. Working with them, I got to design new systems and tools for moderators, making their platforms both safer and better to be on.
An interest that goes beyond work
Alongside the professional side, what I read about geopolitics, film and culture more broadly has enriched how I approach the work. I am a firm believer in learning continually and always try to widen what I know.
Invention and safety: what comes next
Through my work I look to invent, and to keep finding new ways of meeting the growing threat posed by bad actors on the internet.
