As a developer at FCA, I look after and build the tools we use, both public and internal. They are what keeps the quality of French Community Agency's work high, by being dependable and by doing things that have not been done before.
I joined Discord in 2017 and spent several years getting to know the platform and finding my place in a good many online communities. Through the people I met, my path crossed that of the team who now make up FCA, almost five years ago. I quickly trained myself in moderation and got involved in the meta-Discord world the team wanted to move into. So I had a hand in building a number of projects and tools for the French-speaking Discord community.
Slash FR
This is where I learned my trade. I threw myself into moderation and into programming so that I could contribute. I built moderation and productivity tools for Slash FR, which gave me a taste for development and shaped what I wanted to do professionally. That contribution quickly opened doors.
Discord Moderator Discord
In March 2021 I was invited to join the well-regarded community of international moderators run by Discord itself. It is where I got to talk with professionals in the field and learn how moderation is done properly. I also took part in focus tests of new Discord features and gave my view on updates before they shipped.
Epitech Technology
Since 2022 I have been at Epitech Technology, a school known for teaching through projects and for its higher education in programming and application development. There I have deepened what I know about programming and software development, and met both professionals in the field and students who care as much as I do about computing. Since 2024 I have coordinated the innovation department on my campus, where I look after students' independent projects and organise events around innovation and technology.
