Slash FR
This project perfectly embodies FCA's expertise in online community animation, combining storytelling, gamification, and team spirit to offer memorable and unifying experiences.
We wanted to energize our community server, Slash FR, for the Easter event. The goal: to strengthen the community by significantly increasing activity and time spent on the platform. We designed a tailor-made animation, blending storytelling, gamification, and community spirit. The target: Members of Slash FR, including community managers and Discord admins who are naturally busy.
For this event, we transformed the Discord server itself into a playground with an immersive Easter egg hunt. Easter eggs of varying rarities appear randomly throughout the discussions: each member can instantly react to collect them and thus earn more or fewer carrots, the central resource of the animation. The competition takes on a collective dimension thanks to a team system, reinforcing engagement and group spirit.
All game mechanisms, dynamic team management, and contextual appearance of elements are the result of complex systems custom-created by our developers. Thanks to our deep technical expertise, we can imagine interactive and innovative experiences that go beyond the usual standards, with a more human and personalized approach.
Too often, many people don't even dare to participate in a community event, convinced in advance that they have no chance of finishing on the podium: this is what we call the spectator's posture. On our server, which brings together many community managers and Discord admins, naturally very busy profiles, we have removed this barrier: here, no registration barrier, no "Participate" button, the animation starts as soon as you arrive. Thus, someone who hasn't said anything yet will be motivated to become an actor and participate in the event, especially since it's very simple and clear to understand how to participate. Result: even the members most occupied by their projects get involved and fully enjoy the event.
To strengthen cohesion, we chose to organize the event around the "HypeSquad houses," a well-known Discord system that allows creating motivated teams and stimulating competition while bringing participants together around a familiar universe, here: Discord.
A Battle Royale where several players compete on a dedicated server. After a phase of item collection, each can ban an opponent or protect themselves. In the end, only one remains.
Several podcasts have been launched to explore various topics related to Discord and our community: news, debates and behind the scenes of the server. Contests have honored the creativity of server creators, evaluated by a jury according to several criteria such as respect for the theme and originality.
Other events punctuated the week: online Werewolf, Minecraft mini-games, Among Us sessions... The diversity of games allowed everyone to find their style and earn points for the event, while strengthening the cohesion and engagement of the community.
To motivate participants, concrete and exclusive rewards were offered: Discord Nitro subscriptions, delivery of unreleased stickers of our mascot, and exclusive banners, accessible only during our events. Giveaways were also organized, reinforcing engagement and enthusiasm around the animation.
To ensure a gaming experience that is both fair and secure, we developed our own anti-cheat system. This custom device allows us to effectively detect and eliminate suspicious or automated behaviors, ensuring the integrity of the event and the peace of mind of the participants.
The success was overwhelming:
Beyond the numbers, Slash FR has transformed its Discord server into a real place of social life, largely exceeding the classic uses related to gaming. This achievement perfectly illustrates the potential of Discord as a lever for community engagement and animation, by highlighting our expertise in gamification, animation, and adaptation to the target audience.
