Discord's first French mutual-help community

Slash FR: a French-speaking Discord community at its best
Slash FR embodies how we see digital communication, and cemented our reputation for building online spaces that are both lively and welcoming.
The brief
FCA set out to do something ambitious with Slash FR: build a Discord space that French speakers would find genuinely welcoming, full of help and resources in their own language. We were after more than a community. We wanted a place where mutual respect and careful moderation were simply the norm.
How we went about it
In a space where engagement decides everything, our team worked from a carefully considered communication plan. We designed a layout that is warm and easy to read, so conversation between members comes naturally. Clear rules and hands-on moderation set the tone for a respectful, safe atmosphere.
What came of it
Slash FR went further than we expected. With more than 10,000 active members today, the community stands out for how welcoming it feels and how reliably people get help. The praise we hear from members tells us the approach worked.
How quickly Slash FR grew, and what its members say about it, speak to our command of building and running communities online. The project is concrete proof of what we can do in digital communication.
In closing
Slash FR reflects a commitment we keep coming back to: communities deserve to be well made. It is FCA's craft in a single project, and it is why we are trusted to design online spaces that people want to be part of. We put it forward as a marker of what we do, and of what French-speaking Discord can be.
